Club notes 12/3/23
Football:
Our Junior Men got their Tansey Cup league off to a winning start with a 1-6 to 7pt win over St Dominic’s , Sunday afternoon . a low scoring game but the second half goal saw us over the line.
Our Kilglass Kilmore senior ladies were out on Sunday Morning but had no luck against St Dominic’s ladies. the u16 girls however pulled off a 1 point win against Four Roads.

Underage:
ABC  continues on a Wednesday night at 6pm for girls and boys from 4-7 years of age.

Handball

Well done to Niamh Hall and Eoin Grehan both claimed 40×20 County Titles in emphatic style.

St Coman’s hosted the Roscommon 40×20 B Championship Finals where a large crowd saw our Kilglass stars display great skills to claim our first u12 titles.

In the Girls U12 Final Niamh defeated Aoibh Johnston of Lisacul. With an excellent serve, Niamh raced in to an early lead and while Aoibh rallied it wasn’t enough to stop Niamh’s momentum. Niamh’s agility and awareness around the alley helped her to see out the game in style.

Eoin Grehan had to work hard for his win, defeating two opponents to claim the Boys u12 title.
He defeated Eoin McDermott in the semi final. His powerful serve proved the difference against the Lisacul player who battled back well in the second game.
The final against St. Coman’s Bobby Gannon was a great game that could have gone either way. Again, Eoin got off to a great start but had to withstand a late rally by Bobby to close out the first game.
The second game was even closer, with both players displaying a wide range of skills. Eoin showed great maturity stay in the game, eventually clawing himself back into contention. Eoin didn’t let up and used his sidearm to great effect to win out in the end.

Niamh and Eoin will now represent Roscommon in the Connacht Championship to be played in the coming weeks.
